Well, I read and read and finally hit the point in chapter 7 where I left off, on page 241. It is a lot clearer than before. I am really spending time on each line of code and understanding what it is doing ... even if I can't repeat it from memory. Well, of course that should be the case because who learns right away new stuff except for extremely gifted people. I would hope those people would be doing brain surgery rather than this.
It is funny. Whenever someone asks me what I do, I tell them I am a softer programmer. I always get that glazed "I have nothing more to say" look. Is it so boring or mysterious? I haven't a clue.
Well, anyway, back to chapter 7. I did some more table view stuff today where I programmatically took 4 subviews and added them to a table view cell. Fun stuff. Tomorrow I am going to learn how to do the same thing using a nib. I would guess that this will be a much easier thing to do in the long run even though I assume it will be difficult to learn in the short run. But it is going to be exciting to see.
