Well I did a very brief review of the last section of chapter 7 and realized that I would be a little frustrated -- well, actually, I am frustrated with the chapter as a whole. This is not to say that I did not do some cool things and actually understand what is going on line by line. As for the big picture, well that is still a ways away. I find solace in the fact that I am only about 1/3 through this book and will hopefully start seeing things come together more as the days go on.
I started chapter 8 on tables. Tables are a subject I have seen for well over 20 years of my career. I have also seen many an iPhone or iPad app with such structures so that makes me feel kind of in the loop. Although it is too soon to tell, chapter 8 is shaping up as a nice introduction. It is also very reinforcing as it reminded me that the table view is tied to the File's Owner which basically makes the controller class the delegate and the data source. Still a tough concept to grasp but for now, memorization will do.
Anyways, I am enjoying the introduction thus far. I have done what was instructed and today I am going to see why things are done.
