Still utter confusion with the re-read of chapter 8. It looks like I will be turning to the Stanford videos this weekend for help. As I stated earlier, this makes me somewhat happy as I know that many will quit about here. The idea of inheritance should make perfect sense, but it doesn’t. But going to keep drilling until I find the promised land.
K. I finished exercises 1-6 in chapter 8. It is not intuitive. At times I still do not even know when to add a semi-colon when declaring things, where to import the class, etc. the @class directive still boggles me. I know I can always refer to books, but that will slow me down. I guess things will sink in as time goes on. Nevertheless, exercises 1-6 is complete. The next two exercises look difficult.
After this is done, off to chapter 9 on polymorphism, another terms I have heard regarding OOP. But, before that, I may take a detour and look at the videos online or do more side reading on the inheritance materials.
