The First Simple App

This morning I followed instructions about a simple little app. A button was clicked on the iPhone simulator and it led to a number appearing on top of the screen. Seems simple but behind the scenes there were 3 classes built and I had to do some new stuff to get the buttons and label to associate to the code. Although I understood that the code needed to be connected to the objects, I would have never in a million years been able to figure out how the things got connected if it were not for the book.

Once everything was connected, I launched the iPhone simulator and there it was, my first simple little iPhone app. Wow! I have started working on the second app which is all laid out for me in the book. After I finish entering the code I will look it over and see what it is about. It makes me think about a future book, the iOS Programmers Guide from the Nerd Ranch guys. Something tells me, this will be the most pivotal book in the series.

Tomorrow I plan on finishing up entering my app and ideally finishing the reading of the chapter.  I have 10 more pages to read in this difficult but inspiring book. Yes, I am still excited about forging ahead!!!
