With 15 in the rearview mirror (as a minor traffic accident), I am glad to report that I am onto Chapter 16, the one on managing files. I worked through program 16.1 and am a bit challenged as to where files go upon creation. According to Mr. Kochan, the test file is to go into the file where the executable is. Had no idea there even was an executable but that is my "duh". Of course there would be. After all, something is getting compiled somewhere and that would be the executable file. I guess I will learn a lot more about this when I start looking into the iOS books or Xcode book (if I decide to get it). Well, anyway, once I found out where the executable got created, the program worked fine.
Today I only did 5 pages which will not do me well if I am to finish this chapter. Remember, I wanted to finish the entire book by the end of June. It is now July 1st and I am not even on page 400. It may take me to the end of July to finish this book which means I will be 25% into my learning with just one book under my belt. Not where I want to be considering there is another Objective-C book to work with.
I also can't say that I have to step up my learning time. I am learning as much as I can and when I can. I just have to make the time count within those 2-3 hours a day. In the meantime, I looked at the back of the chapter and there are 8 exercises. This is 3 less than the challenging prior chapter but still many. But when I finish this chapter, I will be right on the border of page 400 which is a good thing!
